The Phillies

The Phillies are back for 2000!

Those DARN Trades!

I do not understand the team anymore.  First they traded Ashby, which was understandable.  Then they traded Schilling, which is still making mad.  The only consolation to this is that he wanted to be traded.  Still, it makes me mad that Arizona now has Randy Johnson AND Schilling!  Next, they traded Gant, which made some sense because of the Brogna situation.  Brogna would come back, Gant would leave, and Burrell would take Gant's position.  However, to my surprise, Ed Wade says "Let's bench Brogna instead, but still trade Gant!"  Well, he didn't say that, but it would make sense.  So, of course, Brogna is unhappy, and wants to be traded.  Now, in comes another bonehead play by General Manager Ed Wade:  He rejects a trade offer by Boston, because he doesn't want to give Brogna away for nothing.  Then, later, after the trade deadline, he gives Brogna away for free.  *cough*  Finally, I thought it had ended.  But nooooooooooo!  Ed Wade says to himself "Hmm, Marlon Anderson sucked, but Morandini is doing too good to stay as our 2nd Basemen!  Let's trade Mickey Morandini!"  Ok, he never said that either, but I have to get my point across, don't I?

And now, the Phillies are doing worse than before. *Sigh*.
